I knew coffee and coffee shops both are gaining popularity, but I didn't know they were growing that rapidly till I read this book. I think this is the era of coffee shops like the bars were during the great depression of the 30's. I have read a few restaurant/coffee shop business books lately and I must say this is the only book that took the most comprehensive approach to "How to start a Coffee shop Business". Ass I read through it, I can tell the owner has through each of the steps himself, otherwise, it is hard to go into that much detail just from online research. If you are thinking about opening a coffee shop business, I think you should consider adding some type of snacks or food with your coffee and don't just have coffee on the menu. I recently spoke with a coffee shop owner who told me, he makes more money from food-related sales then he does from coffee-related sales, even though coffee by far has the biggest profit margin. This book, hits the nail right on the head, the author also stresses that foods should be added to the menu, but it has to be simple food and not anything too labor intensive.
