It makes nice quesadillas. Easier than using a frying pan. I like the red color. I like that it stands on end and can be stored vertically. It is easy to use and clean. As other reviews stated the handle is poorly designed and very inadequate. It is loose. The handle lip to grip to open the lid is barely a quarter-inch wide (I measured) which with the looseness of the handle makes it very difficult to open the lid. The lid itself is also loose and wiggles. It makes opening even more difficult. I ended up using a fork to open it and then grabbed the lid with a pot holder. Going to do some research and see if there is a solution for the handle design. If not, JB Weld or Gorilla Glue and possibly a slotted pot lid to fit over and extend the small lip is my thought.Yes, I know it says 10 inches for it, but in my head and the size of the tortilla, the machine size is quite large. It does have ridges which I assume would seal for a smaller tortilla. Most mass produced tortillas from the market are 6-8 inches which also have the most varieties / variations like low carb. The 10 inch ones, at least that I found are standard flour ones. Using that size will give me 3 rings of seal and one would think that all the filing and cheese will be safely inside. Nope, I still managed to burst it out and I didn't overfill them. The section wells are ok sized deep but you have to press the tortilla down in to them to fill. The instructions were to make it outside of the machine and then after it preheated, then place it in. I always end up missing the wells and had to move it around and try not to burn myself. I build it on the maker while it heats up so the tortilla will soften into the well and I can fill. It has a latch that is important to get on since it's how it seals, scores the sections. You can't force it down initially if you fill a lot since it'll get stuck shut. Slowly press it down as it cooks every few minutes so the tortilla can stretch and make room. It takes about 10 mins to cook but you must use pre-cooked meats. Going beyond quesadillas, you can make very funny shaped samosas, pasties, pies or spanakopitas. Clean up is easy since it's non stick; storing it, for me is an additional kitchen cart shelf and it takes up 80% of that shelf. The top is slightly domed so I've not been able to put anything atop it. Since there is a latch to close the maker, once can stand it up for storage but you need a big clearance on that shelf; I don't have that clearance.Had a maker getting long in the tooth, this was a fantastic replacement.Works just fine, easy latch on the front to lock the lid down for those 'packed' meals.I've enjoyed mine.This is really a very easy to use item. Just wish it offered more colors to pick from. You really need to spread out the toppings to get an even cook. The only downside is the more toppings you have. You need to hold the lid down for and even cook. That's why I only gave it 4 stars.Wish I found this sooner I absolutely love how it looks and even better how it cooks!! You will not be disappointed!This make dinner so easy. Love it.It does a really good job, nice brown crispy quesadillas. Make all kinds, breakfast, lunch and pizza style.The teenager in the house loves to use this product. Easy enough for him to cook his own food and clean. Would highly recommend!This unit is clearly licensing GF name. I had an identical unit for yrs that did not bear his name. The non-stick works well, but I still use an oil spray. Should be cleaned right after use for ease of cleaning. A damp "sponge" works well. For people complaining about the handle breaking, food not fitting, cooking is messy, I can provide some advice. First, do not force the handle to close, and slightly press down on the top and pull the handle before attempting to open. Food needs to be spread evenly and layers should be thin. If you are adding salsa and cheese add it towards the center, spread it in a circle and make sure the circle is not more than 3 inches in diameter. If you need more salsa (or cheese) you can add it after the quesadilla has been cooked.Pros:- The 10-inch cooking surface is just an ideal size for the quesadillas I buy in Costco.- Edge-sealing rings work pretty well if the quesadilla's edges left without the filling.- The non-stick coating lives up to its name. I just wipe it clean with a kitchen paper towel, and the gadget is ready for storage.- Six pockets make it convenient to cut the portions when its ready.- The cord it's wrapped on the base that's great for storing.- Upright storage - despite its size, this quesadilla maker is quite compact in terms of its storage.- Power indicator light - Red- Preheat indicator light - GreenCons:- The latch is somewhat flimsy.- The cord could be longer.- No on/off switch. Just plug in, plug out.- You cant go wild with the fillingFor the price I paid for this quesadilla maker through Amazon Warehouse Deals I can't complain at all. Five stars.I was hoping that the other reviews I saw stating that the latch for the lid melted were an exception. Sadly, I was mistaken. I bought this product on Jan 2021 and by July the lid IS melting, even though we have used it only on occasion. It is a great concept and we loved using it but this quesadilla maker has a death sentence and unfortunately we won't be able to return or exchange since the period to do so is just within three months of purchase. Great business idea for the seller but terrible customer service for the buyers :(Easy to use, just follow the directions. Melted cheese wipes off easily, mild soapy water for best cleaning. Watch to see when the browning starts and pay attenton, I usually listen for sizzling cheese. Then it's done. Unplug and enjoy your meal.I saw the reviews about the latch lock handles breaking and thought maybe other users were more vigorous in their use and I was extremely careful not to force anything or pull, bend....and once heated up, the handle softens at the junction and snaps off in a crumbly way.SOLUTION- Place a solid stone cutting or other heavy serving board on top while cooking. It works even better than the lid did.I can't believe they haven't corrected this design flaw yet.
