Had an older model for years and recently broke the carafe. Decided to replace the whole machine rather than just buy a new carafe. Got this model and love the design and options. It's not overly complicated and it has a simple look and feel. Highly recommendI bought this used at half price and it functioned perfectly. It’s made of a lot of plastic, and I am not crazy about that, but I didn’t expect metal anyway. Makes decent coffee and it makes it pretty fast. This replacement pot fits a 12 or 14 cup machine. What can I say about flavor? It holds the coffee, which is essential. Price is high for just the pot, but otherwise, I'd have to order a whole new machine.I've ordered a few of these over the years. At keast they offer a replacement for us clumsy folks. But now my 10 year old coffee maker is dying, and based on the reviews of current Cuisinart products, I don't know if I will replace it.It's a nice coffee machine I don't know what else to say it was a gift I don't drink coffee but they seem very happy with itThis is absolutely the best coffee pot I have owned. Easy to use, and clean, and the flavor of the coffee is perfect!Bought this coffee pot because I wanted a glass pot my original was steel. Perfect replacement.Bought to replace one that was exactly the same. That one lasted about 5 years with daily use. Matches other counter items.Nothing to dislike about this. Best coffee-maker I have ever owned. Capable of brewing full-flavoured HOT coffee in small or large batches. Great extraction of flavour (I find most cone filters do this better than basket filters), and lots of customizable features. The metal "gold" permanent filter is a nice bonus - offers a slightly different flavour, but nice, especially if you forgot to buy filters. The water filter is a neat idea too, as long as it is easy to find replacements. I use Brita-filtered water anyway so don't really need it. I appreciate the strength selection option and the special 1-4 cup setting that makes nice strong and HOT coffee for 2 (4 cups really means 2 average mugs). Seems well put together and has a nice retro look. The only thing that doesn't work for me is the water level indicator inside, as I am short and the maker is tall, so I would need to stand on a chair and look down into it to see the water level, but as long as I measure it out properly in the first place (with the carafe) I don't really need to do those gymnastics. Did I say it makes HOT coffee? Most do not, and I have had many coffee makers over the years, so this must be emphasized. Auto shut off is nice too, as I have no memory, lol. No more baked-on coffee film on the bottom of the carafe. If this lasts, it might be the last coffee maker I will ever need. No regrets.Item when arrived did not workworks great. the settings are easy to understand and the coffee it makes tastes great. I like the filter system- the water loses any chlorine smell or taste and makes the coffee even better tasting. The self cleaning function is fantastic. I can set it to make my coffee for the morning with the easy timer setting. Only reason it doesn't get 5 stars (admittedly very picky) is because the beep to alert you that the coffee is ready is very loud and annoying. I wish there was a volume control for it, or a way to shut it off. Second, the top of the carafe does not easily snap back into place and sometimes comes loose, but its really a nit-picky thing and does not impact the ability to make coffee. 100% recommend! The machine makes coffee ok but there are a couple of disadvantages that a buyer should be aware of that make it a bit of a nuisance. First, the carafe has a fixed top and does not flip up for adding water, (or milk etc..) It has to be removed completely and to snap it back into place is also not simple which is a real pain for us. The other negative is that after the coffee is made one has to clean the underside of the hot water inlet because it gets covered by coffee grounds and also one has to remove the charcoal filter after each brewing cycle because it gets grounds on it too. This seems to happen even when we lower the amount of coffee in the filter basket. We are going to try to find a carafe that fits and has a flip top.
