I first bought one of these salsa makers at the State Fair about 25 years ago, where they were demonstrating them by making pico de gallo, which was the best I had ever tasted. I have been using one ever since. It makes the best pico de gallo/salsa. It’s so easy and convenient to use and you can quickly mix up a batch of your favorite kind in no time. I also use it to chop up all kinds of vegetables (onions, tomatoes, celery, lettuce, cabbage) to use in soups, coleslaw, chopped salads, hashbrowns, tuna and egg salad, omelettes, relishes, dressings, etc. I have had ones with bigger bowls, but prefer the smaller one. It’s easier to use with smaller batches instead of cramming too much in the bowl. That puts a lot of stress on the maker and if it’s too full, it is difficult to turn. At times I have put probably too much in the bowl, and with continual use, it eventually cracked. I honestly think it was because of the stress that I was putting on the bowl by trying to chop too much at once and the vegetables were probably in too big of pieces,. So I’ve since learned that you cut the portions down and chop up in smaller batches. Some veggies need to be cut down or quartered before you put in. I use mine all of the time. I do hand wash mine instead of putting it in the dishwasher. If I have used it a lot, and I’ve had a lot of shredded items chopped up in the bowl, I will soak the lid in water to just make sure it cleans out all the nooks and crannies. I have never had trouble with any of the blades going dull, and mine have stayed very very sharp, and you do have to be careful when you are washing the unit that you don’t cut your fingers. The salsa master that I have just purchased here appears to be a very fine quality, it is durable, it works perfectly, and it appears to me that it will last a long time. I’ve already made several batches of salsa, mixed up some coleslaw, chopped up vegetables for soup, and chopped up onions and tomatoes and jalapeños for a relish that I like to put on my hotdogs and hamburgers. The salsa maker has become a regular part of my kitchen routine and there are endless possibilities for its use. I will never be without one and this one works perfectly.
