Great flavor! This was my first purchase of the Muskoka coffee and it did not disappoint! It is a dark, rich, and hearty brew with no bitterness. Highly recommend if you are howling for a tasty dark roast! This was a Christmas gift for my husband when he opened the package we discovered that the product was out of date.I never thought I would have a favourite coffee as I love it all. As a coffee drinker since age 11 (yes, that's bad LOL) I have tried a lot of them. There have only been 1 or 2 I've ever tried that I disliked and I'd still be unlikely to turn it down. So nothing ever stood out as "the best" to me before... However, when I tried this one - amazing! It's so smooth yet strong and does not upset my stomach even when I drink it black. It's also great with cream though. It has a very true coffee flavour which I would not describe as fruity, roasted but not burnt, and it basically just tastes how coffee smells. You don't need a lot either to make a decent cup like some. It works in my drip maker and my Keurig.I also love the design. I usually pour grounds into a container, but with this I leave the bag out as it's so pretty. It is also very giftable yet affordable.I am a coffee fanatic and know my coffee. I am extremely disappointed in this bag of coffee. 0 aroma and 0 taste. A cheap bag of dollar store coffee taste better. I do not give bad reviews on a whim ever but this is either a botched batch or extremely old. Back to Kicking Horse Coffee for meI decided to try a new brand of coffee for a change. After reading reviews for Muskoka Roastery Coffee, Howling Wolf, Medium Dark Roast. I ordered 2 bags (ground). I like my coffee strong but the reviews were good and it sounded like it was very tasty etc. As usual, for my one cup of coffee, I put 3 tablespoons of ground coffee. I did not experience the nice smell of coffee in the house when the coffee was brewing, like others have. When I poured the coffee in my cup I knew by its pale color that it would be weak and it was. This morning I put 5 tablespoons of coffee for my one cup and it was ok but nothing special, no nutty flavour, very bland. I will not buy it again and I will give the 2 bags away. Very disappointed that I wasted $20.Maybe i was unlucky buying it at under $10 ground version only to find it inferior to the whole bean version (not discounted at the time). I tested this product on the same day as I received the parcel because ground coffee needs to be consumed faster than whole bean. The whole bean version of this roast gets a perfect rating: well balanced and strong taste but not burnt like Starbucks. However this ground version has only half the flavour. For example, I can drink this ground version in black with the same amount of ground and found it a bit acceptable. I can describe it as very watered down (lack of taste). The whole bean version, I need to add sugar milk, which is how it supposed to be.5 stars cut in half? I guess 3 stars. Still a good product if I stick to the whole bean version. If you prefer a bite or a bitter coffee, this isn't it.This coffee is smooth and I would say it is between a medium and full body - not quite as a rich and syrupy as some full bodied pour overs but still reminiscent of one. Of the three coffees I recently ordered through Amazon (Kicking Horse, Muskoka and Van Houtte), this was my favorite and the best value (it was $8.99 at the time).
